This is a very common problem in the first time when you have intercourse, it happens. There are two types, one is superficial pain and the other one is deep pain. The reason for superficial pain is anything like psychological because you will be very nervous or you will be very stressed or very anxious about the process that could be one reason, the other reason could be that the vaginal opening could be very very small. So when you have the intercourse for the first time obviously most of them will encounter some kind of a pain particularly during the penetration and also after the intercourse and also some people also experience some bleeding as well because through that small opening only the big baby about 3 to 4 kgs can be delivered which means that the vagina is such an expansible organ. So you should not be worried about. All you have to do is take it very relaxedly and do lot of foreplay for about half an hour before you actually indulge in yourself in the intercourse and that should do and after a couple of times you will get comfortable and the pain should sort of get better, the other thing is deep, which the patient complaints after a particular intercourse, there can be some pathological reasons like fibroids, or endometriosis or even some kind of an infection. So I would say that if you have encountered any of these problems then I would consult a gynaecologist an also get enough help form them to manage your symptoms.
